Our offshore wind client is seeking a Buyer Coordinator to join their team in New London, CT. In this role, you will develop and prepare Purchase Orders and Purchasing requests as well as track and expedite deliveries. You will direct negotiations, solve problems, and communicate with suppliers to ensure compliance with purchase order requirements and achieve the required service to meet project needs. This is a Monday - Friday fully onsite role.

Job description

  • Generate and process purchase orders based on requisitions
  • Source and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms
  • Maintain relationships with existing suppliers
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues
  • Analyze inventory levels to determine purchasing needs
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments
  • Verify the accuracy of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Document and report any discrepancies or damages
  • Label and store received goods in designated locations
  • Maintain accurate receiving records
  • Process returns and exchanges

Job requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED required, Associate's degree, or experience in a business-related field preferred
  • Previous experience in a purchasing, receiving, or inventory control role is highly valued
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations related to inventory and orders
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in data entry
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with inventory management software is a plus
