Following the success of Atlas Professionals UK Greenhand Programme which has been running since August 2018, Atlas Professionals have started an EU Greenhand programme to recruit professionals from across Europe.

Currently, demand from our clients vastly outweighs the supply of professionals at various roles offshore – a major one being roustabouts in the EU. Atlas introduced the Greenhand Programme, specifically designed for those who have the transferrable skills that enable them to be effective in an offshore capacity. In a notoriously difficult market for Greenhands to break into by themselves, we utilise the relationships with our clients to provide these opportunities.

Greenhand Induction Day

Atlas Professionals will be carrying out Greenhand Induction days and at these days attendees will have a one-to-one interview, aptitude tests, receive advice on life offshore and given safety awareness training by an experienced offshore Safety Officer. The interactive day will consist of:

Drilling mastery class / process safety
Life offshore
Risk management tools
Lock Out Tag Out
Lifting operations and control of lifting equipment
COSHH awareness
Stop work authority
In the line of fire (Red Zone awareness)
Prevention of hand and finger injuries
Prevention of dropped objects/Working at height
Barrier management

How do I attend a EU Greenhand Training Day?

Register for one of our upcoming Greenhand Training Days and complete your Atlas account. Your application will then be reviewed.

What happens during a EU Greenhand Training Day?

You will undergo safety awareness training with our Health & Safety Manager Mark McDonald as well as the overview of Greenhand Programme recruitment process & co-ordination from the Greenhand Account Manager Liam Connell. You will also complete an aptitude test.

Where does the training take place?

We are holding various days throughout Europe, please keep an eye on our Events page as well as Atlas Social Media pages for more information on events.

How long is the training?

It is a one-day training course.

What job can I be offered as a result of Greenhand Training?

Once all relevant courses are passed, Atlas Professionals will be able to consider you for Greenhand Roustabout opportunities within the EU. We have both rotational and ad hoc opportunities across a vast array of Clients available. However, please note that Atlas Professionals cannot guarantee that you will be offered a role on the completion of these courses as opportunities are very much Client and market driven.

How much does it cost to attend?

We offer our EU Greenhand Trainings Days free of charge.

What training certificates do I need?

To gain employment as an EU Greenhand Roustabout, you will require the following:

BOSIET with CA EBS
Norwegian Escape Chute
OGUK Medical
MIST (or equivalent on country specific requirements)
Shoulder Measurements
Banksman Slinger Stage 1 (Initial)

All of the above certificates are essential.

The below Fire Team Member courses are desirable and will greatly increase your chances of attaining offshore employment as a Greenhand Roustabout:

HOIT
HERTM
OERTM
H2S

Who pays for the training?

All trainings are self-funded.

How much does the training cost?

We are able to offer our EU Greenhands exclusive discounted training rates with training providers after successful attendance of a EU Greenhand Training Day. The cost of training may differ depending on your location & training provider.
