Due to client and market demand, Atlas Professionals are expanding their long-standing Greenhand Roustabout Programme to technical positions, introducing a bespoke Technical Greenhand Programme from May 2022 onwards for Onshore Professionals with a technical background interested in going Offshore for the first time. 

Qualifying trades include Motorman, Mechanic / Assistant Mechanic, Electrician / Assistant Electrician and Assistant Crane Operator. The minimum certificates required to be considered for the Technical Greenhand Programme are listed below in FAQ's.

How do I attend a Greenhand Training Day?

Register for one of our upcoming Technical Greenhand Training Days and complete your Atlas account. Your application will then be reviewed by our dedicated Greenhand account manager. Only if you are successful, you will be contacted, this is due to high demand.

What happens during the Technical Greenhand Training Day?

You will undergo safety awareness training with our Health & Safety Manager Mark McDonald as well as a one-to-one interview with our Greenhand Account Manager Liam Connell. You will also complete an aptitude test which you would have to past before being considered for the next stage of the Greenhand process .

Where does the training day take place?

The Technical Greenhand training day will be held in various locations depending on the locations of applicants.

How long is the training?

It is a one-day training course.

What job can I be offered as a result of Greenhand training?

Once all relevant courses are completed, Atlas Professionals will be able to consider submitting your CV for Technical roles as per our Clients' requirements. Whilst we have a significant amount of rotational and ad hoc opportunities across various clients, Atlas Professionals cannot guarantee work – however we have significant buy-in and interest from multiple Clients.

How much does it cost to attend?

We offer our Greenhand Trainings Days free of charge.

What training certificates do I need?

To gain employment as a Technical Greenhand, you will require the following:

  • Fit to Train
  • BOSIET with CA EBS
  • OGUK Medical
  • MIST
  • Shoulder Measurements
All of these certificates are essential. However, depending on the technical position, there are specific certificates to match for the following roles:
  • Electrician / Assistant Electrician: Trade Paper, Compex, 18th edition, City and Guild, Level 3 NVQ or equivalent.
  • Mechanic / Assistant Mechanic / Motorman: City and Guild, Trade Paper, NVQ Level 3, CoC OOW or equivalent.
  • Assistant Crane Operator: Crane Op Stage 2.

Who pays for the training?

All trainings are self-funded.

How much does the training cost?

We are able to offer our Technical Greenhands exclusive discounted training rates with training providers after successful attendance of a Technical Greenhand Training Day. The cost of training may differ depending on your location & training provider.

By registering for a Technical Greenhand Training Day, you create a MyAtlas account. Verify your account and make sure your profile is up-to-date by uploading your CV and any certificates you may already have.

Attend a Greenhand Training Day

Should your profile match the criteria for a Technical position, you will be accepted to attend the Technical Greenhand Training Day. Due to the large volume of applicants, this may take some time so please bear with us.

Get your certificates

After attendance, selected candidates are given access to exclusive discounted training rates with our training providers.

Land your first offshore job

Obtained certificates can then be uploaded to MyAtlas. Our recruiters can now start looking for your first placement with one of our many drilling clients.
