Atlas Professionals' Boston office is seeking highly qualified Cable Client Representatives with trenching experience. This contract will begin in June and go through to October. Please note, applicants must hold a valid US visa for offshore wind - B1-OCS.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Client Representative with deep expertise in offshore trenching operations to oversee and manage the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of cable burial activities on offshore wind farm projects. 

  • Act as the client’s primary offshore representative during trenching and cable burial operations, ensuring all activities align with the project’s scope, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor trenching operations to ensure equipment is operated effectively and safely
  • Validate and review trenching methodologies, burial assessments, risk assessments, and daily progress reports from contractors
  • Provide technical feedback to the onshore engineering and project teams regarding seabed conditions, equipment performance, and trenching efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with all HSE standards, and actively participate in onboard safety briefings, toolbox talks, and permit-to-work procedures
  • Liaise with trenching contractors, survey teams, vessel crew, and marine warranty surveyors to coordinate trenching operations and resolve offshore issues in real-time
  • Maintain detailed logs of trenching operations, key decisions, and deviations from plan for final reporting and analysis

Job requirements

  • Prior offshore experience with a focus on subsea trenching and cable installation in wind, telecoms, or interconnector sectors
  • Direct experience with trenching technologies including jetting, ploughing, or mechanical trenchers
  • Understanding of soil conditions, trenchability assessments, and burial risk assessments
  • Valid offshore certifications: GWO, HUET/BOSIET, OGUK
  • Excellent reporting, communication, and coordination skills under offshore conditions
  • Valid US work visa - B1-OCS
