The site representative shall be the COMPANY Project representative on installation vessel:

  • To apply COMPANY HSE Standards and safety culture onboard the installation vessel
  • To ensure that all approved procedures are implemented during the offshore operation or use Management of Change process for any modifications
  • To supervise all offshore operation onboard the installation vessel (PLSV)
  • To act as COMPANY focal point onboard the vessel with the COMPANY site representative (FPSO RSES)
  • To act as COMPANY focal point onboard the vessel in case of emergency (Reference to the HSE Bridging document between TEPBR and Installation Contractor
  • To provide daily report to the SURF Manager.

Job description

  • To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behavior with regards to COMPANY “Code of Conduct” and HSE rules and regulations. To implement HSE requirements and safety culture within his area of responsibility, and to comply with the required HSE training requirements for the services.
  • To participate the preparation of the offshore procedure (implementing feed back from previous operation)
  • To follow up all offshore installation activities onboard the construction vessel (PLSV) including supply/barge activities, transfer of equipment, deck operation, MCV connection and testing, subsea umbilical and flexible lines laying activities, lifting operations, load out, Subsea ROV works and offshore pre commissioning and testing
  • To verify that the agreed procedures are implemented during offshore activities and ensure that any modifications are covered by the Management of Change process  When satisfactory preparation level has been achieved, to sign in due time each specific Ready For Installation, For Recovery, For Load-out certificates
  • Review, comment and sign, when satisfactory, the Daily Progress Report issued by the installation vessel management team.
  • To communicate in accordance with the defined project procedures (in particular during co activities or SIMOPS operations) and to ensure good transition and handover between the different shifts
  • To ensure that the daily activities performed by the vessel are in compliance with the planned schedule, any deviation shall be reported onshore for consideration and approval
  • To review and report any nonconformance activities to the SURF manager and to follow up the related correctives and preventive measures
  • To ensure adequate and timely reporting to the SURF manager by daily report and daily phone call (progress, concerns) and as general manner anticipates problems, optimize, improves, propose solutions with regards to the offshore installation campaign
  • To ensure onboard the vessel that relevant traceability tables and inventory of equipment installed subsea are well maintained
  • To be RSES-D onboard the installation vessel with the main objectives to ensure any COMOPS/SIMOPS activities and any emergency situation in accordance with the agreed Emergency Response Plan
  • To inform the need for other contractor/supplier technical assistance. (SPS, Umbilical/Flexible manufacturers
  • To ensure that relevant certificates / check list are ready and when relevant signed by COMPANY representative and MWS in due time (Ready for transportation, Ready for installation, Ready for Commissioning,…)
  • To coordinate with PLSV offshore team HIRA level 2 (Hazard Identification Risk Analysis) prior the start of the operations.

Job requirements

  • Offshore Engineer/Supervisor with Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, Especially in SURF
  • Knowledge of COMPANY's CR and GS.
  • Familiarity with Brazilian offshore regulations for marine, environmental, and NR.
  • In-depth knowledge of SIMOPS and HSE rules.
  • Experience in a large EPCI Project.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues (HSE, technical, procurement, transportation, storage and preservation, engineering, construction, quality control, schedule, costs, etc.).
  • Background in construction.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and take on significant responsibilities.
  • Willingness to contribute to and adhere to the Project's Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • Experience with the appropriate technical level of understanding of all involved disciplines.
  • Organizational skills and a positive attitude, but capable of raising and defending services in accordance with Contract requirements.
  • Fluent in Portuguese.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).


Knowledge of the Following Offshore Operations:
  • Riser pulling and retrieval.
  • Flexible pipe laying.
  • Rigid pipe laying.
  • Riser construction, including Lazy wave and SHR.
  • Installation of structures; experience working on rigid pipe lay vessels, PLSV, OSR.
