The professional will be responsible for supporting the Installation Manager in organizing, managing, monitoring, and controlling all activities related to the installation operations and pre-commissioning of SURF equipment and installations, carried out by the EPCI Contractor.

Job description

The professional will be the focal point for all welding activities within the project team, in conjunction with the Site Manager. During the EPC phase, the service must ensure that all operational deliverables and procedures are aligned with the design and installation engineering outcomes, considering the constructability constraints and aspects to meet the schedule. The service must ensure that the deliverables related to installation operations are issued by the contractor in a timely manner and in accordance with the purpose.
Additionally, the service will be responsible for ensuring the proper handling of interfaces between installation operations and other disciplines. During the installation phase, the professional will support the site team by reviewing the contractor's documentation, monitoring the implementation of procedures and inspection plans, ensuring the updating of material and calibration certificates, and closely supervising the QC inspection team. They will be responsible for challenging the contractor and subcontractors on QA/QC performance and conducting daily inspections, reporting anomalies or non-conformities.
The service will also contribute to maximizing the project’s NPV value by aiming to increase quality, productivity, and/or reduce investments. The professional will report to the Site Manager and will be responsible for supporting reports to the Project Manager. They will demonstrate exemplary behavior in relation to H3SE rules and ensure the implementation of H3SE requirements within their area of responsibility, while promoting a safety culture within the project.
The professional will be responsible for complying with the Company's Code of Conduct values and principles, ensuring safe and ethical work practices, seeking learning opportunities, and optimizing project costs without compromising HSEQ objectives.

Job requirements

Level / Degree: Engineer, or equivalent
Experience in services with offshore operations supervision in deep waters related to SURF activities.
Participation in a recent deep-water project, including offshore operations.
Good communication skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude.
Training: CBSP, HUET
Languages:

  • Fluent English required.
  • Fluent French appreciated.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR SERVICES
Certification: IWI-C or IWE.
Welding specialist aboard pipelay vessel.
Experience in similar services (years): more than 5 years of experience aboard a Pipelay vessel (J Laying):

  • Clad pipe welding (625) Inconel.
  • Automatic welding technologies (bug welding, such as CRC bug, SERIMAX Bug, SAIPEM bug).
  • 2G and 5G welding services.
  • Experience in the start-up of a new Pipelay vessel operation, welding installation, will be appreciated.
