Subsea cable lay
Martine Rondeel is Manager of the Bristol office and started her career in the offshore industry almost 5 years ago at Offshore Marine Management (OMM). OMM’s personnel department specialised in supplying offshore personnel, mostly to the subsea cable lay industry and Atlas took over this department in an acquisition on 01st August 2012. “The take-over by Atlas offers us further opportunities to continue growing in this specific market and we are very excited to combine our 9 years of experience in this industry with the 30 years of experience of Atlas”, tells Martine.
Wind farms
The United Kingdom is well known for having some of the most experienced and skilled personnel in the subsea cable installation industry. This reputation originated years ago through the lay of trans-Atlantic export cables between Ireland and America. With so much experience in subsea cable installation, the country has been well equipped during a very busy period of offshore wind farm installation. “The United Kingdom is one of the world’s leaders in offshore energy production and we are very proud of the fact we have supplied personnel to some stage of every United Kingdom offshore wind farm installation since they first started being installed offshore in 2003. Most recently we had over 120 contractors on London Array Offshore Wind farm, which is expected to be the world’s largest offshore wind farm”, explains Martine.
Broad client portfolio
“Our Bristol office has a broad, international client portfolio, many of whom we are the preferred supplier to and we have been supplying to their offshore projects for many years. Our clients include Wind farm owners who we supply with various positions including Client representatives, Project managers, QHSE Managers and Consultants and cable installers who we supply full cable crews, QHSE Medics and Project Engineers amongst others. We also supply to Cable Manufacturers, utility companies and various other industry sub-contractors”.
Specialists
The office in Bristol has a pool of contractors with a proven track record who they use on a regular basis to fulfil their client’s requirements. “It is important when providing professionals that we have first hand knowledge of their experience and ability in order to guarantee the quality of the services provided. We pride ourselves on being able to offer some of the most experienced and skilled personnel in the industry and by now being part of Atlas Services Group, we are looking forward to expanding our international network of clients in order to supply more specialist personnel to the industry.”
