The Boston office of Atlas Professionals is seeking an HSE Advisor to work on a US offshore windfarm construction project. This is a contract to permanent-hire position. The rotation schedule is 5 weeks on/off and the estimated start is early June.
Job description
- Provide competent HSE advice, guidance, and support to the project team, contractors, and other stakeholders on all offshore construction activities.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Project HSE Plan, procedures, and risk assessments specific to offshore wind farm construction.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and observations of offshore worksites (including vessels, platforms, and turbines) to identify potential hazards and non-conformities.
- Participate in and contribute to incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Monitor and report on HSE performance, including leading and lagging indicators, and identify trends for improvement.
- Support the delivery of HSE inductions, training programs, and awareness campaigns for offshore personnel.
- Ensure that all contractors and subcontractors comply with project HSE requirements and relevant legislation.
- Liaise effectively with onshore and offshore management teams, client representatives, and regulatory authorities on HSE matters.
- Contribute to emergency preparedness and response planning, including participation in drills and exercises.
- Promote a positive and proactive safety culture through engagement, communication, and visible leadership.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records and documentation.
- Participate in project risk assessments and method statement reviews, providing HSE input and recommendations.
Job requirements
- Recognized professional HSE qualification (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent).
- Significant and demonstrable experience as an HSE Advisor, preferably within the offshore construction, marine, oil & gas, or renewable energy sectors. Experience in offshore wind farm construction is highly desirable.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments, method statement reviews, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Valid offshore certifications - GWO, BOSIET/HUET, offshore medicalÂ
