The Boston office of Atlas Professionals is seeking a Certified Inspector for a short project in the US. The project is set to begin in July and will last for approximately 30-35 days. The inspectors must have relevant experience and hold CSWIP 3.3U (ROV Inspector) and 3.4U (Under Water Inspection Controller) or equivalent.
Job description
- Plan and execute structural inspections of offshore wind subsea structures utilizing ROVs
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection plans to ensure comprehensive inspection coverage
- Operate and interpret data from various NDT equipment deployed by ROVs (e.g., CP measurement, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection)
- Conduct visual inspections via ROV video and still imagery, identifying and documenting any defects or anomalies
- Supervise and guide ROV pilots and technicians to ensure the correct positioning and operation of the ROV for effective inspection
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, including findings, observations, photographic and video evidence, and recommendations in accordance with project requirements and relevant standards
- Liaise effectively with the Subsea Project Manager, engineering team, and client representatives regarding inspection progress and findings
- Participate in pre-inspection briefings and post-inspection debriefings
Job requirements
- Due to vessel flag, must hold US citizenship or green card status
- Current and valid CSWIP 3.3U (ROV Inspector) certification or CSWIP 3.4U (Underwater Inspection Controller), or a widely recognized equivalent
- Significant and demonstrable experience (typically 5+ years) as an underwater and/or ROV inspector within the offshore energy sector (offshore wind, oil & gas, or similar)
- Proven experience in structural inspection of offshore assets, including foundations and subsea components
- Strong understanding of common NDT methods used in underwater and ROV inspections
- Strong report writing and data analysis skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise inspection reports
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with offshore teams and onshore stakeholders
- Relevant offshore survival and medical certifications
