Atlas Professionals' Boston office is seeking highly qualified Survey Client Representatives with experience on cable lay projects. Please note, applicants must hold a valid US work visa.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Client Representative to oversee offshore survey operations supporting subsea cable lay activities on a wind farm project. The successful candidate will act as the client’s technical eyes and ears onboard, ensuring survey operations deliver accurate, reliable data that meets project specifications and supports safe, efficient cable installation.

  • Represent the client onboard survey vessels during pre-lay, lay, and post-lay survey operations to ensure compliance with project scope, specifications, and industry standards
  • Oversee the acquisition, processing, and QA/QC of geophysical, geotechnical, and positioning data during cable lay operations
  • Monitor the performance and calibration of survey sensors and systems
  • Review and verify real-time positioning of cable lay vessels and touch-down monitoring (TDM) systems to ensure cable is laid as per the defined route corridor
  • Liaise with survey contractors, vessel crew, cable lay teams, and onshore engineering teams to ensure accurate communication and data flow
  • Ensure adherence to HSE policies, participate in safety briefings, and support a proactive safety culture onboard
  • Produce and maintain accurate daily reports, including survey logs, progress updates, and equipment status summaries

Job requirements

  • Prior offshore experience in marine survey roles, with strong exposure to subsea cable installation support
  • In-depth knowledge of offshore positioning systems, cable tracking tools, and survey data acquisition and QC processes
  • Valid offshore certifications: GWO, HUET/BOSIET, OGUK
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong reporting capability
