Atlas Professionals' Boston office is seeking highly qualified Cable Client Representatives with experience on pre lay grapnel runs and route clearance. This contract will begin in June and go through to October. Please note, this vessel is US-flagged and as a result we will only be able to consider US citizens and US permanent residents.
Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Client Representative to oversee and manage the execution of pre-cable lay grapnel runs and route clearance operations for offshore wind farm projects. The successful candidate will act as the primary offshore interface between the client and contractors, ensuring that all operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Represent the client offshore during grapnel run and route clearance operations to ensure contractor compliance with the project scope of work and technical specifications.
- Monitor and report on pre-lay route clearance activities, including debris identification and removal, UXO clearance support, and seabed condition assessments.
- Review and validate operational procedures, method statements, and risk assessments prior to execution.
- Liaise closely with vessel crews, subcontractors, marine warranty surveyors, and onshore teams to ensure cohesive operation management.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of daily activities, progress reports, and incident logs.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and ensure adherence to HSE policies and permit-to-work systems.
- Provide technical guidance and support during operations, including assessing grapnel performance and seabed interaction.
- Ensure all survey and clearance data is correctly acquired, stored, and reported for subsequent review and analysis.
Job requirements
- Previous offshore experience on subsea cable installation projects and route preparation for offshore wind or telecoms projects
- Proven track record in overseeing pre-lay grapnel runs and seabed clearance operations
- Valid offshore certifications: GWO, HUET/BOSIET, OGUK
- Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills
