Job description
We are looking for a Junior Control Engineer to support high-voltage operations from an onshore control centre in Norddeich, Germany. The role is part of a 24/7 shift team responsible for monitoring and coordinating all HV circuits in offshore wind farms.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor SCADA systems and respond to alarms
- Perform authorised switching operations in line with Electrical Safety Rules
- Coordinate with offshore teams and national grid operator (TenneT)
- Prepare and review switching protocols and execution permits
- Participate in risk assessments for offshore work (Work Authorisation)
- Guide external personnel on electrical safety requirements
- Support fault resolution and create work orders in SAP
- Coordinate urgent actions in case of faults
Work pattern:
- Monday to Friday in Norddeich office
- Shifts: Early, Late, and Night (roughly 8.75 hours each)
- Pattern: ~5–6 days on, followed by 2–3 days off (E E L L N N F F)
Job requirements
- Must be eligible to work in Germany under the AUG scheme
- For UK citizens, include an approximate timeline for work permit approval in the CV
- Candidate must bring their own laptop and iPhone
- Devices must allow installation of AirWatch (security and management software)
- All equipment must be up to date with latest iOS
- Ørsted (client) reserves the right to remove apps/data if needed for GDPR or security
- CVs must be in English and free from logos or supplier branding
- Submissions must follow vendor-neutral guidelines to be considered
- Rate must comply with agreed framework rates
