With the recent opening of an office in Taiwan, John Skiller has joined Atlas Professionals as Business Development Manager based in Taipei.
While originally from the U.K., John has spent most of his career in the Netherlands, working globally in the field of rolling bearings applied to a wide variety of machines and industries. His roles have covered research and development, quality and performance evaluation, as well as product approval programmes and collaborative projects among multiple industrial partners.
For the past 10 years John has specialised in renewable energy, mainly wind turbines. He has cooperated with developers, consulting firms, and research centres, while also leading projects addressing design-for-market, operational and maintenance issues.
At the start of March 2020, Atlas Professionals have opened their office in Taipei, Taiwan. This branch predominantly focuses on the expansion of offshore wind and will be working in close cooperation with Atlas’ established office in Singapore.
On joining the company, John says: “Taiwan has declared great ambitions in the offshore wind space, but not without challenges posed by a relatively young and emerging local industry, and so I’m confident we will benefit from our global experience, especially in close cooperation with Atlas’ well-established office in Singapore. I look forward to take on the challenge of expanding our wind business in Taiwan.”
