Renewables events in the Perth office: a huge success!

Atlas Professionals co-hosted a hugely successful Renewables Roundtable event on September 10^th, in the Perth office.  The event was attended by over 40 leaders and decision makers of local and international oil and gas companies based in Western Australia.

Andy Evans, CEO of the Star of the South offshore wind farm project, gave a detailed presentation at the event. Andy's presentation: "The Future of Offshore Wind in Australia", provided an update on the status, next steps and procurement activities of the Star of the South project, as well as local community and Government involvement in the project. Andy noted how this landmark project will 'pave the way' to other offshore wind opportunities across Australia. Andy is very passionate about the industry and is demonstrating his commitment to offshore wind energy in Australia by setting up a new industry business network (Offshore Wind Australia) to support development of a larger offshore wind industry in Australia, with reach into the Asia Pacific region.

Following on from this event, another networking event was held at the Atlas Professionals Perth office on September 23^rd, with the Star of the South Procurement Team (including the project Technical Development, Infrastructure and Procurement Directors) presenting to a similar West Australian offshore oil and gas audience of 70+ attendees. The presentation focused on the project schedule, opportunities to participate, their project contracting strategy as well as foreseen procurement drivers and challenges.

Both events demonstrate that there is a real 'buzz' in the industry about the potential of the Star of the South project and the Australian offshore wind energy sector in general.

It is great for Atlas Professionals to be so heavily involved in the Australian renewable energy community and to be seen as a strong partner to the Star of the South project.  This collaboration has strengthened existing client relationships, enabled new connections and also put Atlas Professionals at the forefront in the minds or our maritime and oil and gas clients; providing a launch pad for discussions about other projects.
