On Friday 29 March 2019, fourteen young Indigenous boys from the Yule Brook Clontarf Academy joined over twenty Atlas Professionals staff and partners in a friendly soccer game at Langley Park in East Perth, Western Australia.

Atlas Professionals has been involved with the Clontarf Foundation for over eight years. The Clontarf Foundation is an Australian organisation that exists to improve education, discipline, life-skills, self-esteem and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men.
The Foundation’s efforts have expanded from a single Academy school for 25 boys in 2000 until today when it caters for over 6,500 boys in 97 schools across Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
Joining Clontarf and Atlas Professionals on the day were staff from TechnipFMC, Toll, Woodside, UTEC and Transocean.
Offshore industry involvement in Indigenous education and training
With such healthy numbers on the day, it was decided to mix the teams up and play fourteen a side. The game was played in a fantastic spirit on the beautiful green grass of Langley Park, next to the spectacular Swan River. Some fantastic goals were scored and the highlight of the match goes to Pamela Campbell, from Toll, for a fearless header!
After the match, the boys were treated to a delicious sausage sizzle provided by the staff of Atlas Professionals.
The soccer game last week was not the first time that Atlas Professionals and partner companies’ staff have joined Yule Brook Clontarf Academy boys in a fun, outdoor activity. Previously the boys and Michael Goss, the director of Yule Brook, joined Atlas Professionals staff for a great game of cricket and soccer, also in Langley Park. These events are now a tradition for Atlas Professionals and an opportunity to showcase its offshore industry involvement in Indigenous education and training efforts.
