At the end of a hugely successful campaign, we farewelled the Posh Arcadia on 22 December 2018 as she began her journey to Singapore. Initially a 5 month campaign, the Posh Arcadia and crew ended up providing accommodation support to Shell Prelude for over 15 months.
Challenges arose early in the project with high volume recruitment and an evolving logistics procedure, along with extensive on boarding inductions, relentless training requirements, and rigorous medicals. After the mobilisation phase, the day-to-day operations kicked into full swing – and there was never a dull moment! From a turbulent cyclone season to gastro outbreak and more, all challenges were faced head on.
There were, of course, triumphs that were embraced by all on board and which were celebrated throughout the office. These included numerous safety and performance accolades awarded to Atlas Professional marine crew, and the catering team being awarded Contractor of the Month by Technip and Shell in November 2017 for their management of the gastro outbreak.
To gain some perspective on the scale of this project:
- 187 marine crew offshore, consisting of:
- 71 marine personnel
- 116 marine caterers
- Over 4,000 flights booked for this project (AP crew only)
- 1,200 expenses submitted and processed
- Over 15,000 personnel arrivals on the Posh Arcadia during the life of the project
- Close to 1,400 helicopter flights and an average of 70 refuels per month – an incredible accomplishment by the Helideck and Shell Aviation teams
- 32,895 Take 5 cards submitted from all departments
- 688 safety observation cards submitted, and
- Over 830,000 meals served, 550,000 smokos served and almost 700,000 eggs were cracked!
Atlas Professionals would like to take this opportunity to thank all involved in this project, including crew and their families, and our clients. We had a lot of fun along the way and look forward to maintaining the momentum on the next project.
