Atlas stand attracts record number of visitors

16 April 2013

On 10 April 2013, Atlas exhibited at the Maritime & Offshore Career Event in Rotterdam. More than 4,352 job seekers from all over Europe visited the 7th edition of this event: That’s an increase of over 43% compared to last year – an absolute record.

Highly educated visitors

The large number of people that visited the exhibition it wasn’t only Dutch people that visited the exhibition, the amount of international visitors made up more than 10% of the total number of visitors. This was also noticeable on the Atlas stand. Paul Steeghs, Atlas Director, said: “Even now, in these turbulent times where we are seeing an increase in unemployment, the quality of MOCE 2013 visitors remains high. The statistics of MOCE point out that more than half of the visitors have been educated to University/higher level and are in possession of at least five years of work experience. As well as this, the technical and nautical professionals were well represented.”

Good old-fashioned registry

“The event started at 10.30 am and even at this hour, our stand was full of candidates who were looking for job opportunities in the maritime or offshore industry. It is nice to see this industry is growing in popularity”, says Marloes van Vliet – recruiter at Atlas. Unfortunately, due to some MOCE technical issues, we were not able to register candidate contact details online, so information had to be gathered through printed forms. Even with this challenge, we managed to get 115 contact details of potential candidates, which is a great increase compared to previous years. “Most of the candidates were very interesting and were followed up straight away”, states Eric Nijman – Account Manager Atlas.
