When did you start working off shore?
I first started working offshore as a deck hand in off of the north coast of Canada in 1976. I worked on a dredging project in the Beaufort Sea where he was building islands for offshore drill sites
What roles have you had?
I moved in and out of the oil & gas industry over the years. In 1992 he obtained his first marine licence. Since that time I have been continuously employed as a Deck Officer on various types of vessels. Over the years I have worked on just about everything from commercial hovercraft to product tankers.
What would be you preferred location?
My preferred offshore location in Australia would have to be the Bass Strait. While the weather in the Strait can be a bit on the wild side it is a much cooler working environment compared to the heat and humidity of the NW Shelf or the Timor Sea. I have completed 18 swings on a number of Polarcus vessels such as Alima, Asima, Amani and the Naila. They have all been fine ships to work on and I have always found Polarcus to be a great company to work for.
What do you do to relax?
In my spare time I don’t get too busy, but thoroughly enjoy time at the beach and dinner out with my wife.
