Atlas presents miniature Seafox 5 to Workfox

7 December 2012

On 17 August 2012 the christening of Seafox 5 took place in Singapore, where this self-propelled installation jack-up vessel was build. Currently, the Seafox 5 is in dock in the harbor of Rotterdam where it is preparing for his first trip to Germany. Atlas provides 30 employees for this new build jack-up vessel.

Maritime & Offshore experience

The Seafox 5 is a unique vessel which needed a lot of attention in the recruitment of personnel. Bobby Roosien together with Mark Hofland and Kiril Janssen were responsible for this process. Bobby:  “We have spoken to a lot of candidates with different ranges and with offshore as well as maritime certificates and experience. This made the recruitment process difficult, but challenging.” With assistance of the offices in Latvia and the United Kingdom, Atlas was able to propose in total 30 professionals to Workfox with nationalities from Latvia, Lithuania, United Kingdom and The Netherlands.

Different ranges

The personnel provided by Atlas vary from safety officers, second engineers to fourth engineers, riggers and deck officers. They will work on a 4 weeks on 4 weeks off rotation. “At this moment the Seafox 5 will remain in dock till the first sea trial on 17 December 2012. Then, the jack-up has been chartered to Aarsleff & Bilfinger Berger Joint Venture (ABJV) to install offshore wind foundations in the 288 megawatt (MW) Dan Tysk wind farm in the German Sector of the North Sea”, tells Mark Hofland.

Unique present

On 27 November 2012, Atlas congratulated the management of Workfox in Hoofddorp with this new build vessel. “We wanted to give a unique present and I think we succeeded,” says Kiril Janssen, Account Manager at Atlas. “We found someone who could rebuild the Seafox 5 with Lego blocks. More than 20,000 blocks where needed to make this miniature (scale 1 to 45).” The miniature has now a special place at the head office of Workfox. “We wish the Seafox 5 and crew safe voyages!”
