As one of the UK’s most important centres of excellence for the offshore wind industry, the Humberside region has become a key business location for Atlas Professionals.
Atlas Professionals is therefore proud to be an official sponsor of the Golden Apple Awards based in Grimsby; an event that celebrates the talent in the region’s schools, academies and local businesses.
Encouraging the next generation
Atlas will be sponsoring the Business Support for Schools Award. This award gives recognition to a local business that has displayed excellent help, commitment and support to local schools.
Atlas’ Business Development Manager John Morse, explains the importance in supporting an awards ceremony such as this.
“There is potentially insufficient personnel resources in the wind industry so it’s important to encourage the next generation to enter the sector as a career opportunity. Atlas is keen to encourage students to use their time at school profitably and we need forward thinking businesses to work closely with academia in particular to set the students real world challenges, and improve their potential employability skills.
“Students should be encouraged to aim high and through various initiatives, Atlas has always been keen to demonstrate to the employees of tomorrow that offshore wind is a worthwhile career option.”
