For young professionals, and students interested in joining the world of dredging, the CEDA Dredging Days has a fantastic programme of technical and social events on offer. As always the technical content is the main event and this year offers a particularly strong programme of carefully curated papers focussing on sustainable and innovative dredging solutions for ports.
From 5th - 6th November CEDA Dredging Days delegates will experience a series of focussed presentations, from specialists from across the CEDA (EMEA) region who will share their knowledge and insights on the topic.
As an important part of the programme, the Young CEDA activities create a platform for less-experienced CEDA members to express and present themselves, whilst giving them unrivalled opportunities to network with more experienced dredging professionals. To facilitate this there is a dedicated area - Young CEDA Corner - in the exhibition space, where students and Young CEDA members will be able to meet each other and where more senior people will be able to find them.
We already have more than 30 students, from a range of countries, signed up for the student programme and that number is set to rise.
Visit the conference website to find out more about what the programme has to offer including:
- The student programme – offering sponsorship to promising students to attend the event. Participating students will be “looked after” by members of the Young CEDA Commission both at the conference and in Rotterdam and will introduce them to other students, young professionals and more senior members of the dredging community
- Young CEDA social events – presenting networking opportunities including an icebreaker event scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, 4th November
- Young CEDA pitch talk sessions – providing a dynamic series of 7 short, sharp presentations on the overall theme of the conference
Anyone attending should make sure they don’t miss the traditional CEDA Netherlands reception on Thursday evening. Traditionally, it’s one of the Dredging Days highlights and yet another opportunity for Young CEDA members to meet, and learn from, dredging enthusiasts from all segments of the dredging field over a friendly and relaxing drink.
The Young CEDA activities are a great way for our young professionals to experience a serious industry event, learn from more experienced professionals, and network with their peers. If you are a young professional, or responsible for the development of young professionals, then make sure that you register for a place.
