The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has just released an update on the Temasek Fairway reclamation works, west of Jurong Island.
According to the MPA notice, the working period and the working area have been extended. The project will include reclamation, soil investigation and dredging.
Dredging work will be carried out by grab dredgers. Each grab dredger will be held by three spuds as anchors.
The dredgers, with hopper barges in attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 50-meter radius centered at the dredgers. Dredged materials will be transported to the designated dumping ground by hopper barges.
Soil investigation work will be carried out by means of borehole drilling using jack-up barge. The jack-up barge, with tug boats in attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 30 meters radius centered at the barge.
