Here at Atlas, we pride ourselves on our core values, of which we would be nowhere without the primary one: We know our business.
The right person for the right job
On a daily basis we are reminded of the significance of knowing our business, as we are dealing with companies and contractors from different sectors of the survey industry. It is imperative that we understand what companies need, whether it is a surveyor for a UXO survey, or a surveyor to install and calibrate an LBL array and perform subsequent structure installations. They are both surveyors, but more than likely have completely different skills. It is our job to be able to select the right person for the right job.
Face to face
Here at Atlas Professionals, we take the time to know our business, this is through regular industry training, and also having a qualified surveyor, with offshore experience working in our offices. All these things ensure that we can help companies to get the best possible professionals, and help our professionals to get the best possible work options. When presented with a requirement to supply personnel to companies, we take the time to understand the company’s area of operations, the type of vessel they will be utilising, and the team that will complete the job. All our account managers take the time to meet face to face with companies where practical. Whether that is a meeting at an exhibition, or a visit to their offices. This helps us to better understand their needs. Also, we take the time to make occasional vessel visits where possible. This not only lets us see the vessel, and the setup, but also meet some of the team.
Knowledge sharing
We cannot truly know our business, without knowing the people we represent.
Although not always practical, when the opportunity presents itself, we like to meet our contractors face to face through visits to our offices, or taking time out of meeting schedules while travelling oversees to do a personal meet and greet at an airport.
We don’t stop there. We also like to share as much knowledge with the industry, which is why we also have an office member who has been a regular guest lecturer to Hydrographic (Cat B and Cat A) students through Skilltrade BV. This provides an ideal opportunity to interact with industry professionals, and also extend an invite to companies to attend the lecture at no cost.
Having personnel in the office who have spent over a decade working offshore, along with colleagues who have completed training with The Hydrographic Academy provide a valuable insight into what is expected from companies in the offshore industry, allowing Atlas to look beyond the basics, to provide a service tailored to each company, and each differing requirement they present.
