Investing in competence and training

14 October 2014

We are committed to provide a safe, reliable and competent workforce, while working to meet our clients’ needs globally. In order to help achieve this, we welcome Dingena Theunisse as our new Competence and Training Manager.

Managing and improving performance

Dingena previously worked for Fugro Survey BV where she was amongst others responsible for the creation, development and implementation of an offshore personnel development and performance system.  Andrew Blears, UK Operations Director explains: “We heard the debate regarding competence for freelance personnel for many years and decided it was time for Atlas to take the lead with this challenging process. We are very proud to say that the first freelance contractors working through Atlas, are being certified at appropriate IMCA grades as we speak. Dingena’s experience and motivation is a welcome addition to our team, as we look to further develop this area. In the future, we will also look to integrate our competence and training system into our quality management system and ISO9001.” Dingena adds: “Demonstrating competence to clients can help contractual requirements and adds confidence that they have the right person for the job. More importantly, it enables career progression for the individual while giving them ownership of their own development. I look forward working with people to help them achieve their goals.”
