Job description
-
Ensuring that all marine aspects of the rigs operations are carried out in accordance with statutory and regulatory controls and guidelines.

Supervising the operation of the marine department to ensure safe and efficient running of the rig.

Monitoring the weather conditions and rig motions and informing OIM of conditions that are likely to affect drilling operations and seaworthiness of the rig.

Ensuring that accurate calculation of load distribution and weights for daily stability reports and lightship are maintained.

Co-coordinating all helicopter and supply boats traffic, supervising movement of materials and personnel to and from the rig.

Ensuring all navigation equipment is properly maintained and ready for use at all times.

Monitoring quantities of expendables such as fuel, potable water and drill water etc.

Ensuring that cranes are in safe working condition, ensuring all safety equipment, including lifeboats and fire-fighting equipment, is maintained in a state of operational readiness at all times.

Actively participating in the daily operations meeting with the OIM and other rig department heads, operating and maintaining the bulk system as required.
