Atlas Professionals are recruiting for a Service Support Engineer or one of our clients based in Newcastle on a full time, permanent basis.

Job description

  • Deliver front-end technical support to clients, sales teams, and tendering processes for renewable energy service scopes.
  • Evaluate client requirements and develop detailed technical scopes of work for inclusion in commercial bids, encompassing methods, materials, crew composition, and skill needs.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and work instructions for renewable service scopes to ensure consistent and efficient execution.
  • Act as the primary daily liaison both internally with client teams and externally with customers for all Field Service requests, with a core focus on Umbilicals and Power Cables.
  • Coordinate with Service Administration to manage technician travel and accommodation arrangements effectively.
  • Support the development and implementation of Services training and competency plans, identifying and addressing internal training needs.
  • Provide formal 24/7 technical support according to the established rota and on-call policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all job-related documentation, including site reports, expense claims, and test sheets, facilitating prompt invoicing.
  • Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards and procedures as per company policies and relevant legislation; maintain personal compliance with the company’s Health and Safety manual to safeguard self and others.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to uphold and enhance best practices across the service operations.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times, actively promoting our client’s products and services to customers when opportunities arise.
  • Support the development, monitoring, and achievement of monthly KPIs aligned with the Services business objectives.
  • Contribute to company efforts to obtain and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 accreditations by ensuring awareness of these standards and adherence in daily operations.

Job requirements

Essential

  • Hold a technical qualification in an electrical and/or mechanical and/or hydraulic discipline based on job function i.e. Umbilicals requires mechanical and/or hydraulic qualifications and experience.
  • Power Cable experience is a necessity, in particular Offshore Renewable cable experience (terminations, repair splicing and testing).
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Office and be competent at compiling high quality procedures and technical authoring.



Desirable

  • GWO certifications. 
  • Preferably 3+ years’ experience with cables in termination & testing and/or cable pull-ins.
