Job description

  • Managing the manpower and resources of the rig to achieve optimum performance to ensure the well program is carried out in a safe, efficient and productive manner.
  • Managing the planning and efficient execution of the drilling program in coordination with customer representative and rig department heads, holding daily operation meetings with customer representative and rig department heads.
  • Ensuring pre-tour operations meeting with customer representative and rig department heads, managing the monitoring of all onboard equipment and systems usage.
  • Supervising testing and inspection of critical equipment and systems, and ensuring operational parameters and limits are observed.
  • Monitoring the application of the company preventative maintenance system program, ensuring that equipment and systems are operational by setting priorities on equipment repairs.
  • Participating in weekly maintenance meetings, organising and supervising the activities of drilling, marine and maintenance departments and ensuring rig-specific procedures are understood and observed by all personnel onboard.
  • Responsible, along with customer representative, for all third- party services on the rig and ensuring that they comply with the Company’s policy and safety processes, promoting and maintaining a good working relationship with customer representatives, department heads, and third-party personnel.
  • Ensuring that rig complies with Flag State and certifying regulatory bodies requirements.
  • Maintaining daily communication with the Rig Manager performance on all relevant activities regarding the rigs operation and needs.
  • Planning operations with the Marine department as related to rig moves, mooring, station keeping and stability.
  • Ensuring that pre-spud meetings are conducted and that well related hazards are recognized and managed appropriately by the key personnel.
  • Assisting with the development of the vessels consolidated annual maintenance budget and oversee compliance with the budget on an annual basis, reviewing all rig-generated requisitions and overseeing management of the warehouse inventory level to ensure compliance with targets.
