Job description

Job Summary:

  • Operating deck machinery, such as winches and cranes, to load and unload cargo.
  • Standing watch on the bridge, monitoring the vessel's position, and keeping a lookout for other vessels and navigational hazards.
  • Performing routine maintenance and repair work on the vessel, including painting, cleaning, and chipping rust.
  • Assisting with the safe navigation of the vessel, including taking depth soundings and setting and adjusting course as directed.
  • Participating in the launching and recovery of lifeboats and other safety equipment.
  • Handling lines and cables during docking and undocking of the vessel.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Vessel Master or senior officers.

Job requirements

  • AB Special/RFPNW
  • USCG Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC)
  • Basic Safety Training (BST)
  • Vessel Personnel w/ Designated Security Duties (VPDSD)
  • PSC
  • US Passport
  • USCG Medical
  • Must be a US citizen or authorized to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship
