- To be responsible for supervising the deck crew and to liaise between them and the Chief Officer. To ensure that all deck working consumables are maintained to a high standard and returned to the deck store or paint store at the end of each day;
- To take care of deck cargo operations and be responsible for ensuring that the weather decks, cargo spaces and storerooms under his control are secure at all times;
- To fulfill the maintenance requirements for deck machinery as directed by the Chief Officer and to carry out planned maintenance procedures when required;
- To keep the Chief Officer informed of the progress of any job undertaken, and any defects or problems encountered in his area of responsibility;
- To attend the helideck as member of fire party during helicopter operations;
- To attend on foc'sle-head during berthing and unberthing operations and to secure anchors when clear of port;
- To maintain an inventory of stores under his control and to inform the Chief Officer of any spare gear or consumables that are required. To ensure that any lifting equipment or gear in use is certified and correctly color coded. To maintain a ‘Sin Bin’ for out of date equipment and advise the Chief Officer of the status;
- To assist any Project Personnel as necessary, and liaise with the Chief Officer on Project work;
- To be fully aware of the relevant sections of the SMM and COSWP to ensure that the safety standards are of a high standard for the crew, and that the deck areas are always maintained in a safe condition;
- To assist in the general upkeep of accommodation areas by conducting general running repairs in woodwork, plumbing and paintwork etc;
- To ensure the crew maintain their cabins to high standard of cleanliness;
- To be familiar with his duties in an emergency situation and must be aware of, and abide by Company procedures, policies, work permits and instructions, and ensure that those under his control also comply;
- To carry out cable operations as per Masters Execution Plan.
- At least 24 months seagoing experiences working as Deck Foreman Mate;
- CBSP;
- THUET Opito;
- Intermediate English.
Job description

Job requirements
- Hold Deck Foreman’s Competence Certificate and other qualifications as required by the latest STCW regulations;- At least 24 months seagoing experiences working as Deck Foreman Mate;
- CBSP;
- THUET Opito;
- Intermediate English.
