At the moment we have a vacancy for the temporary position of Senior Submersible Engineer. Interested? And do you have the necessary experience?
- Manage submersible team members and be responsible for all work in the submersible department. Lead, guide and delegate as and when necessary and be responsible for the organisation, smooth running, discipline and all welfare aspects of the submersible team;
- Be responsible for ensuring that the submersible system is operated within the terms of the cable maintenance agreement or the particular contract agreed at the time and also within the stated insurance warranty;
- To be conversant in all logistical and technical aspects of operations; be capable of launching and recovering submersible and co-ordinate all launch and recovery operations, plus any specific tasks required of the submersible;
- Strictly observe the following priorities. The safety of personnel, safety of the vessel, safety of the Submersible and the execution of the mission work programme;
- In absence of Subsea Field Team Leader, determine the working criteria for each operation in conjunction with the Master and be responsible for ultimate decision to launch or recover submersible, unless the ship's safety is a factor where the Captain has overiding control;
- In absence of Subsea Field Team Leader, during operations maintain a close liaison with the Master, customers representative and relevant departments in Office, on conditions which affect the operation of the submersible and the Host Ship;
- Ensure that full and accurate operational records are kept and that the relevant reports, data and returns are submitted to appropriate departments in Office on completion of each operation or maintenance period;
- To co-ordinate the necessary maintenance, repair or overhaul of all equipment, ensuring that the submersible system is running efficiently and sustained in a fully operational condition in readiness for any eventuality, i.e. planned or unscheduled projects;
- Assist Subsea Field Team Leader to be responsible for submersible system budget and procurement activities. To be capable of efficient and competent management of cost code expenditures to maintain limits set out in agreed budgetary parameters;
- To ensure that the other submersible team members are trained and capable in their designated operating and maintenance roles and familiar with Operating Procedures, the ship Management System and Pollution and Environment responsibilities;
- To be fully conversant with the physical characteristics of cable systems and the submersibles role in the support of cable operations; including aspects such as host vessel maneuverability, weather considerations, current profiles and seabed materials, and be capable of reacting to unusual events, identification, analysis and solution of problems;
- To pursue technical enquiries with Central Office and outside suppliers;
- If the submersible system is based ashore then is responsible for its maintenance in preventing 'lay-up damage' and advising all relevant departments in SBSS of any points of concern;
- Responsible for ensuring that the system spares inventory is kept up to date and maintain appropriate spares levels.
- Hold qualification certificates as required by STCW 78/95;
- At least 200 days offshore experience as Subsea Engineer and 48 months in the industry;
- Completed subsea competence 1- 30;
- Hold Subserv PTⅠand PTⅡ certificate;
- Hold Subserv Submersible Engineer certificate;
- Hold Subserv Supervisor certificate;
- CBSP;
- THUET Opito;
- Advanced English.
