Looking for a temporary job as Cable Technician in Brazil? Atlas Professionals in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is always looking for new Energy professionals. At the moment we have a vacancy for the position of Senior Submarine Cable Technician.
- Carry out maintenance and testing on all jointing and X-Ray equipment to ensure equipment is operationally ready and calibrated as necessary;
- Carry out general maintenance of various shipboard communications, electrical and mechanical systems, as directed by the Second Cable Engineer;
- Organize and control all onboard cable jointing stores, X-Ray materials, consumables and piece part kits to ensure all are kept at an operational level;
- Take watchkeeping duties during load / lay / repair operations in cable working areas and operations control room as required;
- Test all cable in stock as required;
- Supervise the duties and training of Submarine Cable Technicians;
- Assist with supervision and progress / training of Trainee Submarine Cable Technicians;
- Assist outside normal departmental area as required;
- Be familiar with his duties in an emergency situation and must be aware of, and abide by Company procedures, policies, work permits and instructions, particularly in respect of the Code of Safe Working Practices, Company safety policy and environmental policy;
- To assist with the designated research and development works in R&D department as required.
- At least 3 years experience in UJ/UC jointing area;
- Hold qualification certificates as required by latest STCW;
- CBSP;
- THUET Opito;
- Advanced English.
