Our client, a leading energy company operating in the North Sea, is seeking an experienced Senior HSE Advisor to strengthen their offshore operations. This role is ideal for a passionate HSE professional looking to make a real difference in a high-performing and safety-driven environment.

Job description

As Senior HSE Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of both onshore and offshore teams. Your responsibilities include:

  • HSE Leadership:

    • Serve as a visible ambassador for safety, actively promoting a proactive and generative HSE culture.
    • Provide expert advice and mentorship to operational teams, fostering a shared commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Training & Development:

    • Develop and deliver tailored HSE training programs to enhance the skills and awareness of personnel.
    • Ensure all teams are prepared for emergency scenarios through regular drills and exercises.
  • Incident Management:

    • Lead thorough investigations into incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to management and regulatory bodies.
  • Audits & Compliance:

    • Conduct HSE system audits, assessing compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to address non-compliance and implement necessary improvements.
  • Safety Case Management:

    • Ensure operational practices align with Safety Case requirements, including assessing and approving modifications.
    • Support the review and risk assessment of large-scale work projects to uphold safety standards.
  • Performance Monitoring:

    • Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, analyzing trends and identifying opportunities for improvement.
    • Develop and implement strategic HSE improvement plans to enhance overall safety culture.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Act as a key liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, including contractors and regulatory bodies.
    • Clearly communicate HSE expectations to third parties and actively engage during contract execution to maintain safety compliance.

Job requirements

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Proven Expertise: At least 5 years of HSE experience within North Sea offshore operations.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of both Dutch and UK HSE regulations.
  • Qualifications:
    • Dutch MVK/HVK or NEBOSH Certificate (minimum); Diploma (preferred).
    • All required offshore certifications (e.g., BOSIET, MIST, Offshore Medical).
  • Key Skills:
    • HSE training and development.
    • Incident and accident investigation.
    • Conducting HSE audits and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
