Job description

Cost Control
  • Implementation of cost control standards for the project in accordance with the E&P procedures.
  • Set up the project cost control baseline in the Corporative Project Cost Control tool.
  • Prepares VoWD, accruals and forecast on monthly basis or with the required frequency.
  • Follows approved cost baseline:
    •  Providing variance analysis: Identifies and analyzes deviations between the committed cost, approved budget, the Value of Work done and the actual cost, differentiating cost changes and ForEx.
    • Predicting EAC, ETC and FAC ensuring accuracy as per WBS scope and vendor contracts.
    • Preparing cost progress S-curves.
  • Manage the use of project contingencies to ensure their appropriate use.
  • Support the Contract Holder providing correct cost allocation of PO Position/lines to WBS.
  • Register SES complying with invoicing procedure.
Planning and Scheduling
  • Implementation of schedule control standards for the project in accordance with the E&P procedures.
  • Develop, monitor, and control the schedule in accordance with E&P procedures.
  • Codify activities as per WBS.
  • Integrates Contractor schedules in the Project Master Schedule.
  • Understand activities interrelations and reflects them in the schedule logic
  • Prepare the planned physical progress curves to establish the basis for follow up and monitoring of project progress. Coordinate the follow up of the schedule and measurement of the project physical progress to identify deviations and their causes and forecast the expected completion date based on decisions made.
  • Perform schedule analysis, identifying the critical path.
Others
  • Supports Planning & Performance department on preparation of annual project budgets, monthly reforecasts, and monthly cost reporting.
  • Prepares AFEs for Regulator and Partners, with correct allocation of costs to WBS.
  • Creates periodical reports complying with the reporting requirements for the different stakeholders, including key performance indicators and highlighting the impact of deviations in cost.
  • Provides input to monthly reports and project monthly executive report (PMER / IAMS Project)
  • Update the project budget, the time forecasts of committed costs and the payments to suppliers and contractors to ensure accurate and timely payment. Establish the cash flow to ensure availability of funds according to the requirements of the Company.
  • Participate in gathering lessons learned for the project.
  • Provides support to the Project Services Sr Manager to:
    • Develop and maintain the project services related plans and procedures.
    • Cost control requirements in contracts scope of work preparation, evaluation, and award.
    • Monitor and appraise the performance of the Contractor(s) in areas of cost control, progress measurement and control.
    • Implement and administer the project change control process.

Job requirements

  • Must be a US citizen or be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • University degree in engineering or management.
  • 5+ years of experience in project controls focused on cost control, planning and schedule control in Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Experience in dealing with engineering and construction contractors
  • Familiarity with project management tools and demonstrated PM methodology experience,
  • Primavera P6 advanced level is a must.
  • Knowledge of Cost Control Software such as EcoSys
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • SAP knowledge
  • Preferred: Experience in working in offshore developments.
  • English: Advanced written level and fluent speaking level is essential.
  • Spanish: Preferred
  • Able to apply logical thinking before performing tasks or delivering results. Problem-solving oriented.
