Atlas wins 2021 Australian Subsea Business Award for Diversity and Inclusion

Atlas Professionals’ Lara Taylor has been awarded the prestigious Diversity and Inclusion Award for her commitment to improving employment opportunities for Indigenous seafarers and those from diverse backgrounds. 

September 13, Perth: Atlas Professionals’ continuous efforts to encourage an inclusive, diverse workforce have been recently applauded by the Australian Subsea Business Awards 2021. Lara Taylor, Manager, Special Projects, at the firm’s Australia office has been recognized for her contribution to Diversity and Inclusivity in the sub-sea and ocean-based industry. 

Taylor has been managing the company’s Engineer Upskilling program for Inpex Australia. She was responsible for coordinating the development and submission of an Inpex funded training proposal for the upskilling of offshore personnel that aimed at integrating people from Indigenous and diverse backgrounds for the offshore energy market. The submission has since then been approved by Inpex and is scheduled to kickstart in 2022. The expression of interest is also now open

The jury recognized the challenging times that lay ahead of the industry due to the pandemic and especially applauded her leadership and management skills that led to the successful completion of the training program. Taylor says, “I am very grateful to work with such a great team at Alas that see the culture of inclusivity as essential to the future of the business. This allows  employees to feel supported, empowered and valued.”
