29 August 2022
After the very first demo day with OffshoreWind4kids in 2021, the year long wait to have the next one was finally over as the event took place Sunday 29th of August in Scheveningen Beach, The Hague.
OffshoreWind4Kids is a special type of event that aims to ensure young and enthusiastic kids can learn more about the offshore wind industry by having a hands-on experience with industry veterans. The program involves kids and their families building a model wind turbine together, experiencing how it works and learning more about its specifications and the industry these turbines empower. Atlas Professionals has been organizing such events in cooperation with OffshoreWind4Kids to ensure the Renewables industry continues to attract young and bright minds and can secure a sustainable future.
With 37 registrations, goodie bags for every family filled with surprise gifts and a nice weather for all to enjoy what the day has to offer, we couldn’t wait to get started and build our wind turbines together with industry insiders!
Of course, a special event like this required some preparations to be made as we had little guests involved! For everyone’s comfort, Atlas set up some umbrellas and beach chairs to ensure everyone gets to have a nice break from all the fun and sun if they needed to.
We did not stop there: Since the models’ kids built were representative of their real life counterparts, participants had the opportunity to build platforms in the water to test how they fare against the tides as well.
We are lucky that we had wonderful weather and amicable conditions throughout the whole event so everyone involved got to experience what the industry has to offer in a safe and fun way. The event turned out a great success with all families having a great time, the sun shining and wind blowing for all newly built turbines to spin for hours!
