Tell us about your job at Atlas Professionals
I am currently the Camp Boss on board the COSL Prospector, which is a semi-submersible drilling rig. I’m responsible for the day to day running of the catering department, which involves such tasks as menu planning, food ordering, stocktakes, budget control and liaising on board with crew to ensure everyone has an enjoyable hitch.
How long have you worked at Atlas Professionals?
I was with Programmed Marine for about 10 years. Since the rebranding in July 2017 I have been working for Atlas Professionals here in New Zealand and have been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to work in different positions and on different facilities throughout the country.
What's the best thing about your job?
The best part of my current role is constantly meeting new people, working alongside chefs from different backgrounds and being able to learn all the time. There is always something going on, something new on a daily basis.
What do you do to relax?
When I am home, I enjoy spending time with my family - from going to the kids’ sports games, motoX , enjoying the beach and just having BBQs at home. I relax most when I am cooking at home with mates around and the BBQ going. Occasionally I manage to get a game of golf in!
If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be and why?
I think if I could live somewhere for a year, it would have to be in South East Asia. I’d call Indonesia home for the beaches and surf, but travel throughout the region to experience the cultures, cuisines and history.
