For the second year in a row, the Ensco 5006 has entered into a maintenance period for the cyclone season (November-April). During these periods of stand-by, the Ichthys Project operator organised “Return to Operations Workshops” for drilling personnel working on the 5006 project, held at the Joondalup golf resort. The workshops were spread out over four different dates, with all drilling personnel as well as onshore and offshore Ichthys drilling project personnel in attendance.
The workshops included a morning session; presented by the Drilling Director, Drilling Superintendent and Rig Manager; on workplace safety, look-ahead to the forthcoming year of drilling activity and a team building activity. The afternoon was dedicated to a 9 hole golf tournament, with everyone being allocated into teams, with prize giving at the end of the day.
It is a great day and a good chance for everyone to get to know the crew on the rig, outside of the working environment. Atlas Professionals thoroughly enjoyed these workshops and provides a great kick-start into the next drilling phase.
