Last week, more than 64,700 attendees gathered at the NRG Park in Houston, Texas for the annual OTC conference. The 49th edition of the conference saw 2,470 companies assemble on the exhibition floor, from 43 different countries.
“The energy industry is continuing to be transformed by the technological revolution taking place, and downturns tend to be the ultimate driver of the type of innovation that is often launched or showcased at OTC. Today, OTC is more important than ever as a venue for the type of learning and idea sharing necessary to propel greater efficiencies and safety,” said Joe Fowler, OTC 2017 chairman.
After many years of just visiting, this was the first year Atlas Professionals had exhibited at the event which also tied in to Atlas recently opening their first US office based in Houston.
Global Presence
Atlas representatives from across our worldwide network attended the stand to discuss the latest opportunities in the energy and marine industries. Atlas’ Houston team were also in attendance to discuss jobs in the US Oil & Gas markets.
“The event was a huge success for Atlas and provided a great platform to announce the opening of our new Houston office. With a higher than anticipated visitor attendance and generally a very positive and optimistic outlook for the state of the industry we were extremely pleased to attend. It provided us with a great opportunity to meet many of our US based professionals and clients and demonstrate our ability to service multiple business lines from our new regional office.” - Laura Smith, Vice President, Atlas Professionals Inc.
Making new connections in Houston
The team had a busy week, catching up with clients and professionals and introducing some new faces to the company. On the third day of the event, Atlas Professionals was the official sponsor for the Networking and Drinks reception that was hosted in the EIC Lounge on the UK Pavilion. This was a great event, and the ideal opportunity for Atlas to speak to new and existing clients and professionals.
Quiz time!
Atlas Professionals also played host to a special OTC quiz. Visitors were tested on their knowledge of the Oil & Gas industries. Over the course of the four days visitors, professionals and clients competed to win the LEGO Ocean Explorer ship. Congratulations to the lucky winner, Gorden Medders, a drilling Professional from Gregory, Texas. Thanks to everyone who took part. We look forward to exhibiting again next year!
