Last week, Atlas Professionals attended one of the largest exhibitions for ocean technology and the subsea market in the UK, Ocean Business. The event took place at the National Oceanography Centre situated beside the docks in Southampton. This unmissable event opened its doors to over 5000 visitors and over 340 exhibitors, and presented the latest innovations in Ocean technology.
Atlas’ representatives from our Survey and Management & QC business lines were there to catch up with their international clients and professionals.
Survey Success
During the second day of the exhibition, the survey team had a successful afternoon by securing a placement with a new client. The survey team, based in Newquay, were asked to provide three survey personnel (and counting) to one of their ongoing projects. The team are looking forward to this new venture and seeing what other opportunities this collaboration will bring.
Quiz time!
As always, Atlas were playing host to their own offshore industry quiz! Visitors were tested on their offshore knowledge and the biggest events of the previous year. The prize, a LEGO ‘Ocean Explorer’ ship was an enticing giveaway at this year’s event. Over the course of the three days visitors, professionals and clients competed to win the LEGO ship. On the last day, Atlas Director Andrew Blears announced the winner. Congratulations to our client Carlo Pinto from Next Geosolutions, the lucky winner of the Ocean LEGO Explorer! Thanks to everyone who took part.
“Ocean Business has again proved to be a huge success for Atlas Professionals. With our stand continually buzzing with clients and professionals alike, the teams were inundated with enquiries and opportunities. Ocean Business is a fantastic forum for Atlas to present what we have to offer to the Market, especially in Survey and ROV, and showcase the in-house expertise that our teams possess. As with all exhibitions such as Ocean Business, the real hard work begins after the show with the follow-ups and deliverables created during the event.” – Atlas Survey Manager, Paul Hampton.
Overall, the event was a success and was a great opportunity for Atlas to catch up with their clients and professionals. We look forward to attending the event again in 2019!
