On 25th April, Atlas’ Offshore Wind office hosted a recruitment day in Grimsby for industry leader DONG Energy. People from all over the Humberside region attended the day to discover more about DONG Energy’s biggest project, the Hornsea Project One.
Big interest in Hornsea One
Over 200 people visited Atlas and its representatives from the Bristol, Exeter and the Newquay offices; showing their interest in the variety of temporary positions that Atlas and DONG Energy were able to provide.
Atlas’ Personnel Coordinator, Carlos de-Souza, introduced visitors to Atlas Professionals and the Hornsea Project through a presentation that covered our role in the recruitment process, the magnitude of the wind farm and how this opportunity would not only benefit the area but also the careers of those attending.
Hornsea will become the world’s largest offshore wind farm, providing one million UK homes with renewable energy by 2020. The offshore wind farm will be a vital source of income for the region that has hit hard times through the current economic climate.
Local buzz
The day also generated a buzz with the local media. Laura Smith, Business Manager Offshore Wind, gave an interview to BBC Radio Humberside, illustrating the great opportunities for the local area and Atlas’ core values as a company.
