After submitting an initial proposal to Damen Shiprepair & Conversion and EPC engineering Company IV Oil & Gas, Atlas’ Technical Inspection Services (TIS) business line signed a service agreement for the provision of Technical Inspectors and Expeditors.
Damen Shipyard Project
The TIS business unit based in Capelle a/d IJssel was informed that Damen were in need of TIS-coverage for a conversion of a vessel, currently under re-fabrication at the Damen shipyard in Schiedam, the Netherlands. The technical specialists supplied through Atlas will be working on behalf of IV Oil & Gas, and will be involved with the inspection and expediting of materials at manufacturers and suppliers worldwide.
New Opportunities for TIS
Not only is this contract important for Atlas’ TIS personnel but also for Atlas’ business line as Business Manager Keith Jennings explains, “Although our Energy business unit has supplied personnel to Damen on previous occasions this is a first for our business line and a chance to build a new relationship with Damen.
The TIS service agreement has improved our scope of supply with Damen as in the past we only supplied resources at their office locations. We hope that this agreement will strengthen Atlas’ current relationship with Damen and bring in new opportunities throughout the New Year.”
