Networking Event held in Singapore for Atlas’ Clients

On 14^th May, Atlas Professionals had the pleasure of hosting a networking event for its clients at Fabrika @ Klapsons hotel located in Singapore’s Central Business District.  More than 40 clients from the Marine, Survey and offshore Construction Sectors attended the occasion.

The evening began with a brief Welcome speech by Atlas’ Singapore Director, Ms. Martine Rondeel, leading to the introduction of our Guest Speaker Mr. Denis Welch, Regional Director for Asia-Pacific - IMCA.

Mr. Welch gave an enlightening and interesting speech covering the current downturn in the market, expectations for recovery, IMCA’s role in promoting good practices and competency in the industry and his appreciation of Atlas’ role in upholding standards and compliance. 

Atlas’ Managing Director, Mr. Marcel Burghouwt, flew to Singapore especially to attend this now annual event. He discussed Atlas’ continuing progress and expansion in a tough market and thanked clients for their continued support through this difficult period.  Mr. Burghouwt spoke about the benefits of Atlas’ diversity and that although some of our 15 Business Lines were feeling the affects of the downturn others are still prospering.    

Mcdermott Asia Pacific Pte Ltd - Crew Scheduling Manager, Mr. Allen Cavalho explained how the event was beneficial for client relations. “This was truly a great networking exercise. I was able to catch up with a few industry friends and make new contacts. Being a small closely knit industry that is dependant on each other, it helps to have contacts with fellow competitors and your suppliers so that there is always a healthy and cordial relationship benefiting all sides. In fact some of them are already in touch with me and we have been talking business already!”

The event was a great success, “I was very pleased to see so many of our clients that could join us for our network event,” explains Martine Rondeel. “Our guest speaker, Denis Welch was well received and he had some interesting views on the industry. Overall, the event had a great atmosphere and it was good to catch up with our clients.”
