Within the worldwide network of its offices, Atlas’ AAPL Indonesia crew team based in Jakarta specialises in full crew management from pre-mobilisation right through to acquiring insurances for personnel. Assign local content to global projects shows that AAPL is not focused on helping clients but also investing in local personnel in their training and career.
At the end of last year, The Hakuryu 11 Jack-Up based in Indonesia was built and designed in 2013 by Singapore Company Keppel FELS. With a drilling depth of 35,000 ft, the Jack-Up was commissioned by Japan Drilling Co., Ltd. (JDC) to add to their fleet of self-elevating cantilever Jack-Up drilling rigs. AAPL in partnership with Atlas’ Platform and Jack-ups team was given the challenge of assigning 40 professionals to crew the Jack-Up.
JDC approached Atlas’ Director of India Kevin Dias. “I was the point of contact for this project, Atlas’ Commercial Director Paul Steeghs and I met the client in Vietnam. After a successful meeting with the client, all the information we discussed was forwarded to the main offices in Hoofddorp. During our collaboration with JDC, we developed a good relationship with their Operations manager. Overall, we received great feedback from the client due to the support of the crew logistics team based in Mumbai.”
“The most effective way to gather Candidates within that short amount of time was through the knowledge of our database and the network of our seafarers’,” says Achmad Naufi AAPL’s Assistant Crewing Manager.
AAPL began to search for well trained, motivated and local crew for the Hakuryu 11. Overall, the team has to search for 80 personnel (40 crew on rotation) to crew the Jack-Up. AAPL also ensured that the professionals had been fully trained and were competent to meet the needs of the client.
Collaborations such as this are opening up more opportunities to personnel in Indonesia and Singapore and will bring in more projects for APPL and the Atlas office in Singapore.
