Following our review of annual evaluation forms completed by our contractors in 2010, one question asked if there were any training courses that would be of interest. A relatively large percentage of personnel indicated that they would be interested in EIVA Software training.
On the 10th of January 2011 Atlas (UK) accommodated the request of our people and held our third in house training programme covering EIVA Surveying software.
A specialist trainer was flown in from EIVA in Denmark to provide the training, and a total of 8 candidates attended the course for the duration of 5 day’s.
Feedback forms were completed at the end of the 5 day’s, and provided us with some valuable comments. It was pleasing to find that the candidates felt that the course was well organised, and relevant to their current and future work. The atmosphere and style of the course was reportedly held in a very positive and pleasant manner to which all of the candidates agreed.
In conclusion the course went extremely well and provided us with the opportunity to meet some of our regular contractors face to face and discuss future and current projects, this was also a fantastic opportunity to strengthen and build on relationships with new / unknown contractors and again discuss current / future opportunities. Each candidate felt that the course was very useful and the facilities, environment and catering were excellent. Again, we provided a couple of evening’s entertainment, giving Andrew, Mitchell and myself (Alex) the opportunity to get to know our contractors on a more personal level.
Going forward, we will be looking at further courses in the second half of 2011 that will be both classroom and practical based sessions, to continue our investment in people and commitment to quality. Further details will be available shortly.
