Motorman / Welder / Fitter

Atlas Professionals is looking for professionals to work as Welder / Fitter on an offshore wind installation vessel. Candidates must hold US citizenship or green card. Prior experience on vessels or in marine settings is required.

Job description

• Undertake the practical work involved in minor modifications, maintenance replacement of steel work / pipework and mechanical equipment as fitted or to be fitted to the vessel.
• Carry out burning and cutting work as required.
• Prepare and weld down and remove all equipment that requires sea fastening as directed by the Chief Engineer and the Vessel Master.
• Report to the Chief Engineer on spare parts used.
• Fully understand when mechanical, electrical and utility works can be and should be carried out in a safe and sensible manner.
• Liaise with the Chief Engineer to ensure that engineering assistance is available at all times.
• Liaise with the Chief Engineer and other vessel crew to ensure that at all times maintenance works are coordinated under the instruction of the Chief Engineer.
• Assist with the maintaining of essential services in the case of a vessel emergency.
• Ensure that proper records and logs are kept as required by internal procedures.
• Ensure that all vessel equipment is in a condition complying with the applicable regulations.
• Ensure that testing, effective maintenance, replacements to systems and components are carried out with reference to manufacturers approved operation and maintenance procedures.
• Ensure that all client and third-party equipment meets vessel safety standards.
• Compile accurate and informative handover notes for the back-to-back Welder.
• Maintain the highest standard of vessel housekeeping within area of responsibility.

Job requirements

• Must hold US citizenship or green card status
• Must have prior welding/fitting experience onboard vessels or in a marine setting
• Must be willing to obtain all required certifications to work offshore
