Our client is seeking a Medic to join the crew of their offshore wind installation vessel. Candidates must be US citizens or green card holders and should have previous offshore experience.
Job description
- Responsible for the health and wellbeing of all the personnel onboard the vessel.
- Running the vessel's hospital and treating all medical cases at the sickbay and supplying First Aid at the scene in the case of an accident.
- Controlling drug and hospital inventories, ordering medical stores, maintaining personal medical files and records.
- Assist with the completion of accident reports.
- Ensuring the promotion of health and safety of crew.
- Assisting with any additional administration duties as delegated by the Master.
- Cooperate and contribute to Toolbox Talks and Task Risk Assessments and ensure that these are carried out, wherever appropriate.
- Obtain patient’s consent to inform the Master / OIM of any medical conditions and / or any medication taken which can potentially pose a threat to other crew or the continuity of vessel operations.
- Compile accurate and informative hand over notes for the back-to-back Medic.
Job requirements
- Must hold US citizenship or green card status
- Most have proper medical training/certifications to work offshore
