Atlas Professionals in Stavanger, Norway, is currently recruiting for a Remote ROV Pilot Technician for a permanent position. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of cutting-edge technology in support of our client’s operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.




Due to continued technological advancements and increasing client demand, we are seeking a qualified individual to work in the Onshore Remote-Control Room located in Stavanger. Candidates must have the right to work onshore Norway, and be based within a commutable distance to Stavanger immediately.

Job description

Under the supervision and direction of the Offshore ROV Supervisor, the candidate will support and carry out a wide range of Subsea ROV activities and operations, piloting and operating an offshore Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) and an Underwater Intervention Drone (UID) from the Onshore Remote-Control Centre. Working in close collaboration with the offshore crew in a one-team philosophy, assisting also with operational documentation, deck checks and fault finding. The work tasks will be performed in compliance with approved specifications/operative procedures and to a high quality and in compliance with CLIENT safety procedures and legislation relating to Subsea Remote Equipment System.
The Onshore Remote-Control room sited in Stavanger supports the operation of the currently installed Supportor#24 ROV and the Hydrone-R Underwater Intervention Drone (UID) System that is resident subsea at the Njord A field below the Njord platform.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Technical College graduate and/or technical background in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or IT.
  • Strong computer and ICT skills, with a solid understanding of networking and general communications.
  • Interest in working with advanced ocean robotics; software and programming experience is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial equipment/software and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) used for equipment operation (e.g., Remote ROV Pilot Console/HMI), with the ability to identify faults via HMI subsystem diagnostics.
  • Experience or understanding of offshore subsea operations is an advantage.
  • Involvement in the development of task simulations or experience with ROV/flight simulators is beneficial but not essential (training will be provided).
  • Software development experience is advantageous but not required.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluent in both English and Norwegian, written and spoken.

Additional Information:

  • This position is based in the Stavanger area.
  • The Onshore Control Room operates 24/7, and the role involves shift work.
