We are looking for a Facility / Project Engineer to support the development and operation of gas production facilities in the Netherlands. This contract-based role will be based in Amsterdam, with occasional site visits to the Harlingen area.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you'll play a key part in maximizing asset value through safe, efficient, and cost-effective project planning and execution. From brownfield upgrades to new facility developments, you'll help ensure operational excellence and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Manage gas facility projects end-to-end: scoping, design, cost estimating, procurement, approvals, commissioning, and startup.
- Lead both brownfield and greenfield developments (well connections, upgrades, construction).
- Coordinate design reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS), apply PM best practices, and manage internal MOC processes.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and HSE teams to align project goals.
- Foster strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
- Support capital planning with technical input on facility needs.
Job requirements
- 10+ years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with a strong track record in project and facilities engineering.
- Background in Process/Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Knowledge of HSE and Asset Integrity Management Systems.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
- Familiarity with emissions projects and Dutch regulatory standards is a plus.
Education & Certifications:
- BSc/MSc in Engineering or equivalent through experience.
- HBO+ level (HTS, University, or Industrial Engineering).
- VCA / VOL certification preferred.
