At the moment we have a vacancy for the temporary position of Senior Accountant to join its CEE Business Unit in Croatia. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role plays a key part in the finance team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the documentation of financials, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing expertise in areas such as local GAAP, audit, general accounting, taxation, and joint venture accounting. Additionally, the role involves participation in long-range financial studies and policy development, while also mentoring less experienced staff.

Job description
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable accounting.
- Oversee joint venture accounting processes.
- Analyze and monitor monthly financial performance against budget (Capital, OPEX, and G&A).
- Assist with cost control and forecasting • Ensure compliance with internal controls over accounting documents.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities • Reconcile and oversee VAT declarations and statistical reports.
- Assist in statutory, internal, and tax audits.
- Provide support for PSA management from an accounting and finance perspective.
- Perform additional financial and accounting-related tasks as required.
Job requirements
- Proficiency in SAP and MS Office products
- Strong hands-on Excel skills • Understanding of joint venture accounting
- Certified accountant authorized to submit and file company declarations, tax returns, and reports with Croatian authorities
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Croatian GAAP, fiscal regulations, and the local regulatory system
- Fluency in Croatian and English is required, with (Hungarian being a plus).
- Must be living in Zagreb, Croatia, or in the surrounding area within a 45-minute commute to the office.
