Job description

About the Role: 
As an Offshore Technician you will either work onshore of offshore, and you will be responsible for keeping the clients equipment working safely and efficiently. Between offshore assignments, you may assist the project team with tasks related to electrical, hydraulic, or control systems. The basket carousel and loading tower system will be used for transporting and handling the umbilicals on deck during the installation process. You will play an important role in operating and maintain our equipment, supporting the transport and installation of umbilicals. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, operate, maintain, and dismantle cable lay systems, subsea equipment, carousel systems, and loading towers.
  • Ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely to optimize cable installation processes.
  • Understand the scope of the Cable Installation Project and reviews all project specific Cable installation documentation.
  • Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and necessary repairs.
  • Monitor equipment performance and promptly address technical issues to prevent disruptions.
  • Collaborate with the project manager, supervisor, team members, and clients to resolve problems and ensure smooth operations.
  • Report incidents or issues during shifts to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental regulations while working.

Job requirements

Certifications: 
  • MTS E/WTB or equivalent (electrical or mechanical engineering).
  • OGUK Medical
  • BOSIET with CA-EBS
  • Seaman's Book
  • Chester Step Test
  • VCA or equivalent (SCC: Safety Certificate for Contractors)
  • First Aid

Experience:
  • At least 3 years experience as an equipment technician on board of a Cable Lay Vessel.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • High safety awareness, problem-solving skills, and a hands-on attitude.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics is mandatory. Electrical & software knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and fixing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control system issues.
